BHC Pic of the Week Nr. 227

I’ve decided to move up the Pic of the Week to Sunday as I would like to pay tribute to all the truckers out there who sacrifice their livelihoods, day in and day out, to keep our countries going. The job is not easy and sometimes, even the most absurd regulations can drive us nuts, but we understand that they also save lives. Nevertheless we owe it to them for getting the food on the table and for helping families get on their feet and survive the unexpected. There have been a lot of heart-warming stories of truckers who delivered turkeys for the needy on Thanksgiving and during Christmas. Some who helped the stranded stuck in the snow to get them home. And even some who helped mothers give birth in the most unusual circumstances. No matter where and no matter how, we salute you as much as we salute the men and women who put their lives on the line to protect democracy and free people of the unwanted dystopian world and encourage them to live their dreams and protect what’s right. 🇺🇸🌎🚛

This photo was taken by Jenny Jonas Bricker of the Portland Big Blue Bridge at Hwy. 26 in Jay County, Indiana. As mentioned in yesterday’s Newsflyer podcast, the bridge is coming down next month, unless there is a way to purchase the 80+ year old structure from InDOT and relocate it to be reused. $470,000 is needed to complete the job. If interested, contact the Friends of the Blue Bridge in Portland on their Facebook page.
